Alight acquires 2 GW Swedish solar and storage pipeline from Soltech

Alight has acquired a portfolio of 40 large-scale solar projects in southern Sweden from Soltech Energy Solutions, totalling around 2 GW of planned solar capacity with options for co-located battery storage at most sites. With the Soltech portfolio, Alight's solar and storage development pipeline in the Nordics grows to more than 5 GW.

Alight, a leading Nordic solar developer and independent power producer, is taking over the utility-scale development portfolio of Soltech Energy Solutions, a subsidiary of Soltech Energy Sweden. The transaction has been completed following approval from the Inspectorate of Strategic Products (ISP). The portfolio spans across electricity price areas SE3 and SE4 in southern Sweden.

Alight will lead the continued development of the projects through permitting and grid connection processes towards the next phase where they will be ready-to-build. The projects will be developed for long-term power purchase agreements (PPAs), under which Alight builds, owns and operates the solar parks and sells the electricity to commercial and industrial customers at a fixed, long-term price.

The acquisition builds on Alight's position as one of the leading solar players in the Nordics. Alight recently inaugurated the 215 MWp Lidsø Solar Park on Lolland in Denmark, one of the largest solar parks in the Nordics, and in September the 101 MWp Eurajoki Solar Park in Finland with Autoliv. In 2024, Alight also acquired the 11 MWp Ramsjoholm solar park in Sweden, developed and commissioned by Soltech.
