AFRY has been selected by Himachal Pradesh Power Corporation Ltd. (HPPCL) to provide detailed design, project management and construction supervision services for the 191 MW Thana Plaun Hydropower Project in Himachal Pradesh, India. The project will support the expansion of renewable energy generation and contribute to India's long-term energy transition.
Located on the Beas River in the Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh, the Thana Plaun Hydropower Project will support the state's ambitions to expand renewable energy generation and strengthen long-term energy security. The project will contribute renewable electricity to India's growing energy system, where hydropower plays an important role in providing reliable, flexible and low-carbon power.

AFRY's assignment will be delivered in two phases. During the first phase, AFRY will provide tender-stage engineering and procurement support. The second phase includes detailed design and construction supervision during project implementation, together with other project delivery services.
